November 25th, 2006 - Many times I just flip through the nature book looking for subjects to draw. I found the nautilus to be both a fascinating animal, and it had some wonderful lines and shades to it for attempting to draw.

Analysis - I worked quite a bit on the color representation of the shell and the shading on some of the interior areas. But for some reason I got quite sloppy when drawing the tentacles! As I look at it now I’m very surprised I was happy with my work in that area. Actually the finished lines all over the drawing are poorly done. Hmm….

Note - I’ve decided to start posting my drawings to my blog. For a few reasons… To share the art, to stimulate me to draw more, and to keep a record of them all. Click on the small image to get the larger size view. There will be a small flood of posts as I put up all of my back dated drawings, then only as I produce new works. :)
