Drawing – Girl and her kitten
February 22nd, 2010 – For Aleah’s 11th birthday, she picked an old picture of herself holding Neko. Although her birthday isn’t until August, I needed to get started on this early since I won’t be here for the 3 months right up to her birthday. I really like how it turned out.
Analysis – Shading came right along and just seemed to work. Her eyes and lips really stand out for me and give her character, but I still have issues with hair. I need to learn how to better show highlights and shading within hair. The cat’s hair isn’t much better either. *Sigh*… 
I do like having a record of my progress as I draw each day… although I need to make it a more consistent output.

This drawing really transmits the sweet character of the girl, and something that only good artists can do is expressing feelings, character, beauty … From all your drawings this is my favorite so far, it’s lovely
