What is Wanderings and Musings?

Wanderings and Musings is my spot on the web to write about the adventures I have in life while traveling, exploring or even sitting quietly contemplating life. We all have a voice and opinions to share about our journey on this lonely planet, and it’s time to put mine out there for all to see.

Name: Jeff Hemry

Occupation: Software Engineer, Web Developer

Favorite pastime: I’ll give you one guess… it’s in the top right corner of this page. My second favorite would be traveling and exploring new places, food, people, and cultures.

What kind of bike is that?: It’s called a Hayabusa or Suzuki GXS-R 1300 and is “oh shit” fast. I say that because my very first ride on it, right off the showroom floor, I was going gingerly for a few miles, then as I got onto the freeway I decided to goose it up a bit to see what kind of beast I was riding… and when I shot from about 20mph to 80mph in like 2 seconds, I distinctly remember hearing myself say “oh shit!!”

Where have I traveled to:

  • Mexico - A few times in college
  • Canada - multiple times
  • Spain - 3 weeks in 2000
  • Puerto Rico - 2 weeks in 2005
  • Belize - 1.5 weeks in 2008
  • Costa Rica - 2 weeks in 2008
  • Thailand - 2 weeks in 2008
  • United States - 2 months in 2008 riding all the way around on my motorcycle

Where I most want to travel next:

  • Japan
  • New Zealand
  • Greece

    Hey,

I just returned from CA for a 5-days stay at a friend home. The foods were great. The weather was warm in day time and cold in evenings.

    Have a safe trip.

Awesome job on the transcription, btw.

I think there was an error I spotted. Not a complaint, at all. Just for accuracy’s sake.

“In turn the people of the FED drop a bunch of impressive pieces of papers themselves. Only this time, calling them federal reserve notes. Also designating a value of ten billion dollars to the set.”

    should read:

“In turn the people of the FED draw up a bunch of impressive pieces of papers themselves. Only this time, calling them federal reserve notes. Also designating a value of ten billion dollars to the set.”

Again thanks for all your hard work.

And ‘papers’ should be singular… and there shold be a comma after ‘themselves’, instead of a period. There should be a comma after notes again instead of the period. I believe those three sentences are actually one sentence.

    Awesome.

Today I handed out 13 copies of that DVD to strangers. People are pretty down right now, so it’s real odd to have something non-religious given freely by a stranger. The overall result of it was positive. No one rejected them. JW’s ain’t batting a thousand… Today was a good day.
